You are being asked to complete this form because you have expressed interest in becoming a Water Quality Monitoring Volunteer a Tillamook Estuaries Partnership!

We ask some basic information so that we can assess which sampling locations would best suit you and your situation. Any questions please reach out to our Habitat Monitoring Specialist at (503)374-9622 or flynn@tbnep.org.

The Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Program (VWQMP) consists of volunteers with assigned water quality sampling routes. These routes are composed of ~5 - 12 locations where our volunteers take a sample of water to be analyzed for bacterial numbers. Volunteers collect at all locations in their assigned route every two weeks. This data is regularly uploaded to our website and reported to the Oregon DEQ so the community can understand where it is safe to recreate across Tillamook County.

Please consider before applying:

  • Being a water quality volunteer requires you to drive your own vehicle and enter locations with unsure footing (e.g., streams & banks).
  • Sampling occurs every two weeks on Wednesday mornings. The integrity of our program relies on the consistency of our volunteers.
  • We don't always have positions available. We may consider a few volunteers to be "at need" meaning they will fill-in for others when schedule conflicts arise.

Current routes/positions to be filled:

  • Nehalem
  • Oceanside/Bayocean
  • Pacific City
  • At-Need
