Volunteer Role Descriptions:
There are several different types of volunteer roles at the CCWF, and we need multiple people to fill each one.
Throughout the day, students will rotate through seven different 30-minute station rotation activities.

  • Activity Leaders and Activity Assistants work together to lead a class of ~20 students in a 30-minute hands-on activity, which is repeated six to seven times throughout the day with new classes. This year's CCWF activities will all relate to the theme of "Celebrating Our Wonderful Watersheds" with emphasis on upland forest habitats. Most activity instructions will be provided by TEP. We also welcome your ideas of activities related to the importance of clean water that would be engaging for 4th-grade students.
  • Exhibit Hall Presenters: In the Exhibit Hall, we invite professionals to set up a booth where students will spend 2-4 minutes chatting at each table. A total of seven groups will visit the Exhibit Hall throughout the day, each for 30 minutes. Being an Exhibit Hall Presenter is a great way to briefly interact with small groups of students.
  • Station Rotation Tour Guides lead one class of students to all of their activities throughout the day. Before students arrive, Tour Guides will be trained on where their route is around the Twin Rock Friends Camp facility.
  • Photographers/Videographers help capture the fun throughout the day by bouncing between all the stations to document student experiences at each activity.
  • Back-Up Volunteers help save the day by filling in if/when another volunteer is unavailable on the day of the event. We always plan for our Back-Up Volunteers to attend and lend a helping hand, because there is still plenty to help with, even if all of the other volunteers arrive as planned.
  • Behind the Scenes Volunteers may assist with a variety of logistical tasks. Perhaps a station needs duct tape or pencils. These volunteers deliver it to them. Or perhaps we need a hand at the check-in table in the morning, and then assembling teacher take-home bags in the afternoon. We need a hand with this, too! This role is great for someone who wants to help the day go off without a hitch!
